Studio Manager

Gentle Flow, Yin

Hi Friends, my name is Cony Reyes. I am a proud Chilean, elementary teacher, weaving enthusiast and wifey to Leo. I moved to the Outer Banks almost 5 years ago to teach Spanish in an elementary school. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I was going to become a yogini, especially since I lacked the flexibility and my body did not look the way it was “supposed” to look. However, yoga came into my life as a reminder that all bodies can practice yoga.

Yoga has allowed me to grow into a more mindful and resilient adult. I have become someone who honors her own path, and honors those around me, ultimately strengthening my relationship with myself. I received my 220 yoga teacher training back in 2022 through Scott Lawlor Yoga Academy and have since been teaching a variety of vinyasa, gentle flow and yin yoga classes. I have a passion for bringing yoga to educators, the Hispanic community as well as teaching my students mindfulness and resiliency skills through movement.

Scott “Pickles” Lawlor

Co-Owner

Hot & Cold Vinyasa with Surprises, Warm Yin

Hi, I'm Scott but you can call me Pickles! I’m an E-RYT 500 YACEP teaching traditional vinyasa yoga blended with healthy doses of humor and yogic philosophy. My nontraditional, improvisational teaching style has earned me a dedicated following not only on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, but also all along the East Coast and online. Attention to the yogic lineage, Sanskrit and alignment are paramount, but so are levity and playfulness. My classes are energetic, interactive and fun, the kind in which you laugh all the way through and cry at the end. I call it Honest Yoga.

I received my 220-hour yoga teacher certification through the Amalam School of Yoga on the Outer Banks and my 300-hour certification through Alanna Kaivalya in New York City. I have countless additional certifications and continuing education credits through Integral Yoga and other fellow teachers.

A native of the Jersey Shore, I have lived on the Outer Banks for 25 years, raising four wonderfully kind children, selling produce and contributing to the community in many ways. I came to yoga later in life and am now all in, living the yoga lifestyle to the fullest and enthusiastically sharing what I have learned with others.

Renee Landry

Shivananda

The physical focus of the practice is spinal health with students bending forwards, backward, and side to side.

Sprinkled amongst the simple format is yummy tidbits of philosophy, breathing, relaxation, humor, positive thinking, and….. savasana (lots of savasana).

I stumbled upon this practice during a vacation in Isla Mujeres, Mexico and fell in love. Every time I went to class we did the same thing, so I could really focus on learning and understanding each asana. At the time I was a single mom, running a large event design business. This practice was like a vacation for my head. I also had a ton of orthopedic issues and this practice made me feel like I cold learn with my own body on my own terms.

This is a style of yoga that truly believes the beginner is the master and the master is the beginner. I went on to earn my 200 hour teaching certificate from the Vastu School of Yoga. Each winter I continue to study, teach, and train under Lal Maharajh and Lorri Congolose. I also earned a 220 hour training certificate at the Amalam School of Yoga on the Outer Banks from Anne Howard.

I can’t wait to see everyone on the mat. Let’s empty our cups together, giggle, breathe, and bask in beloved joy.

Om Namah Shivaya.

Deena Prete

Warm Vinyasa

My yoga journey began 22 years ago. No matter where I am or what things are happening in life. I’m always led back toward a yogic life. In its entirety; the only thing that truly feeds my spirit and soul. I’ve been teaching for almost a decade and absolutely adore it. I studied Integral Hatha yoga at Yoga Ville and continue to teach that style. Looking forward to sharing my light and love and with an open heart receiving all that may come my way.
